CHRISTMAS TIME

Well we did it! Alan and I moved into our new home this monday. It was quite an event, because we were under the impression we had till wednesday. Anyways, we had to do it sooner or later, so we did it sooner. Since we got done last night Alan and I put up our Christmas decorations together. This is my second Christmas with Alan, but our first Christmas as husband and wife. Which is super fun because this past weekend we celebrated our 6 month mark!! WOOHOO! So here is a picture of our spectacular tree we put up last night!

HALLOWEEN

Last year I was unable to celebrate my favorite holiday, Halloween. This is due to the fact that my husband is not the biggest fan of dressing up, and other parts of the holiday. I bet he doesn't mind the CANDY! Well This year my hubby was a fantastic sport and carved pumpkins with me!

We got together with my sister-in-law Emily. While we carved our pumpkins we watched Garfield halloween. I carved a moon, star and a howling wolf. Emily carved a face, which in my opinion looked like a vampire. Alan also carved a face, which reminds me of a scarecrow or an old man that is losing his teeth and good looks.
This halloween was great!

MEMORIES

Last week Alan and I had an FHE (family home evening) of our own. Which is pretty hard to accomplish these days since we have such busy schedules. Alan took it upon himself to plan our FHE. He met up with me after school, which gets out at 7:05. I noticed he had a blanket, sweaters and a basket filled with what was going to be our dinner. I thought "how fun a picnic", but then I realized where he was taking me. He was taking me up the canyon to where he PROPOSED!!! It is on Big Mountain looking over the valley. It is a beautiful sight! But everytime I have been there it hasn't been the best weather. When we went up there this time it was freeeezzzzing! Even thought it was hard to bare the cold, it was such an amazing night as we ate grapes, crakers and cheese, and watched the sun set. Then we started remembering the night Alan popped the question. It went a little something like this......
Once upon a time, on a night very much like tonight. There lived two young single adults named Whitney and Alan. They had fallen in love after a long (3 month) courtship. During their whimsical relationship they found that they where the happiest they had ever been in life. So one night Alan took Whitney to see a show. Not just any show, the symphony played broadway music up at Deer Valley. Alan knew how much Whitney adored musicals! And it didn't end there. Alan didn't only provide great entertainment, he also got Whitney's favorite food, Sushi.
After a fun night together it was time for Alan to take Whitney home. As they made their way through traffic Alan decided he wanted to take the back way home. Whitney didn't mind this at all because she knew this meant she would get to spend more time with him. After a long while it started to get darker and the roads a lot bumpier. Whitney realized the roads weren't bumpy, it was because they weren't on a road anymore. Alan was acting nervous, claiming that he had now lost them in the magical forest. Whitney started to panic. Then the rain came..Perfect! What else could go wrong on their quest home.
Then when they thought all hope was lost Alan rushed and pulled the carraige (truck) over. It was still rainy and windy. Whitney refused to get out. Alan kept persisting she get out. After a back and forth discussion, Alan finally escorted her out the side door. Whitney couldn't see a thing, the wind and rain were making her eyesight blurry. She saw a light in the distance. Alan guided her down the hill to a candle lit area. Once they reached the area the rain stopped. Whitney saw 2 dozen White roses, a chair and a guitar. As Whitney caught her breath, Alan began to play his guitar. It was their song, "Bless this broken road." The smile on Whitney's face was beaming. She was so happy! At the end of him serenading her, they embraced. As the hug was ending Alan slowing slid down onto one knee. The words he shared with her I cannot tell. But they were words that she will never forget. Then after a brief pause...
"YES!!!!!", she replied. And they lived happily ever after.
THE END

HOUSE HUNTING

So to sum up my life so far, I was born, graduated high school in 2004(with a pretty descent GPA I might add), and got married. These were all big steps in my life that have led me to where I am today. And I will be completely honest, I LOVE my life. Getting good grades in High school provided me with the opportunity to go to a great College, the University of Utah. And by getting married, I get to spend every day of the rest of my life with my best friend, my husband Alan. While I have been married to Alan these past 3 months, I have made a lot of big decisions. Where should I work, should I go to school, etc. And now after all those questions have been answered we have a new decision to make and it involves one of these little beauties..... A home. Of course not this home. :)

I would love a home, for the reasons of no money wasted, and that it would be our home! I mean, we live in a great town home right now(renting), but it's almost like a shell that we live in. With a home, we could create an atmosphere that matched alan and I. Which I look forward too.

Well wish as LUCK as we search for the future home of the Wilburs!

MONOPOLY

3 1/2 HOURS OF MY LIFE DOWN THE DRAIN!!! Well that is how is seemed after I played my FIRST game of Monopoly ever. It started with 4 oponents; Alan, me, Sharon and Bekah. It started out going pretty well for me.. I owned 2 properties, I had collected the "parking" jack pot. But then I started to realize no one is landing on my properties, so I slowly was running out of mon-AY. And Bekah and Alan had the 2 most expensive properties. Of course, even though they weren't landing on mine, I was landing on theirs every Turn it seemed. Finally Sharon realized she and I were both out of the game it was really just between Alan and Bekah. She then came up with a deal, and I got all her property and all her money...( personally I think she was just done playing, it had already lasted 2 hours).

Well to save myself out of going bankrupt, I started to sell all my properties. I as down to just 1 property. I realized that who ever owned my property was going to win the game, since bekah and alan were pretty much Neck & Neck. So I started a bidding process, who ever would give me $5,000 could but my property. Which was what both of them had. Alan, was the one who gave me ALL his money so that he could have my propery. So I sat in the game till I had spent all my money.

The last HOUR of the game was just Bekah and Alan going back forth just givin each other money. Till finally we had a champion.... ALAN. Here is his Victory photo with bekah.

THE FOURTH

For this Fourth of July.. It is Alan and my first Fourth with two families to celebrate. Which all I can say is the more family the more Fun!!!
On July 3rd Alan and I got to celebrating a little early. We watched the REAL salt lake game, where they tied 1 to 1. Which was a bummer, but we also got to watch some pretty awesome Fireworks. We didn't just watch these fireworks sitting in the stands, we got to go lay out on the super soft and green field. I think Alan was in heaven.. I bet he dreamed " one day I hope I get to be on that field" ha ha, just kidding hun, love U!

The next morning, the day of the Fourth, Alan and I got up early and headed up to go camping with my side of the family. We showed up just when they made a yummy breakfast of eggs, cheese and bacon.. Way healthy! :)
Then my Dad and Alan whipped out the LASSO GOLF! It was quite a sporting event. Every round was so close! My dad won the first, Alan and I won the second, and after a neck and neck game of no one scoring, Alan and I won. What a team we make.

Alan showing my Dad his moves at Lasso Golf.

This is my winning toss, at Lasso Golf... It's a profession.

After the Lasso Golf Tournament, my family, and my cousins went up to silver lake. We did some Canoeing. And also watched Alan and Bryson have a fun time splashing each other with the FREEZING cold water. Which Alan did get me into, but after I lost feeling in my body, which only took 2 minutes. I got outta there!

After we went home and got showered it was off to the Wilbur Party. It was super fun, eating delicious steak, watermelon and corn to name a few. Then we lit some Fireworks. They may not be like the fireworks seen at the REAL game, but still top notch. Especially the Grand Finally that Alan planned. And almost lit himself on fire doing it!!!!! Silly Alan.

HONEYMOON

7 Days away from the world! At least that is how it seemed. We had no way to communicate with anyone back home, no Internet or phone service. And our hotel was right on the shoreline. With a view to die for! As we drank pinacolada's and relaxed in sun. Just us two, nobody else we knew. I wish I could have more weeks like this in my life.

While we were there we quickly noticed that the prices to eat, were insanely expensive. Well insanely expensive for newly weds. So we went grocery shopping. We lived off of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, nutella and cereal. Except for our dinners, we always ate at some of the yummiest restaurants. And I will say, even their Italian was spicy!

Some of the fun excursions we went on was horseback riding for 3 hours on the beach. It was so fun because we got to ride the horses Cowboy style. Alan was galloping up and down the shore. I tried but was terrified after the first time. Ha! Another fun thing we did was go snorkeling. The boat took us out to "lovers beach" which on one side they had the Nikki beach we stayed at and on the other side of the beach was the Pacific Ocean. It was also the season where this seal colony had decided to live. And Oh, did they smell bad!

I loved this trip! And being able to be with alan alone, on vacation, away from everything, will be cherished!

WEDDING DAY BLISS!!

"I am getting married in the morning, ding dong, the bells are going to chime!"

" Going to the chapel and we're, going to ger ma-a-arried."

Take your pick of them! I was singing all of them the day of my wedding! The day finally came, the day I had been hoping for since posting of my first blog... there is a part in my first blog where I said "My fiance's name is Alan. Sorry girls he's taken! Hopefully by the next time I am on here doing this Blog thing I will have somemore fun stuff to share." This is what I wanted to share on this blog more than anything. I AM MARRIED!

The day was a rush, a rush of a lot of things; time, emotions etc. Time being I was going from place to place, not knowing how I was going to make it because I was constantly running late. And for my emotions, I was laughing and crying at the same time...that was first.

I have to say that my blog is titled "God blessed this broken road" not only is that my sexy hubby and my song, it is really how our life has been together. This road we have been on together has had some detours and road blocks. But in the end it finally "led me straight to you" which is something no one can ever top. Marrying alan is the best thing that has ever happened in my life. And I hope the same for everyone else, who hasn't already experienced true love!

JUMP

JUMP ALAN! JUMP! Look at that perfect form! I wish I could say that his landing was as graceful as his dive. But I bet you can already predict how this is going to end. It all started when Alan and I were on a road trip to Disneyland and to visit his brother Mike and his family in the beautiful state of California. Our trip was only 2 days long, one day in Disneyland where we almost passed out from the 100 degree weather. It was still exciting though, because it was Alans FIRST time in Disneyland, the happiest place on earth. After an amazing dinner at Roscoe's chicken and waffles, and I mean amazing, we drove straight over to Mike's home.

It was great to finally meet Alan's brother Mike, his wife Amber and adorable kids. Mike and Amber had one of those classic California homes with the backyard pool. Alan and I were drawn quickly to that, so we were outside first thing in the morning.....JUMP ALAN! JUMP!......If only someone could have recognized he was diving into the Shallow end! Alan popped up holding his head, and the fear in the pit of my stomach exploded. After a moment of examining his injury, luckily all alan turned up with was a inch long gash on his forehead.

Now it has been a couple weeks since the accident, to me it is one of those sexy scars like Indiana Jones has on his chin. And even though it is a good lookin' scar, ALAN NEVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN!!!!

EMMY

The best dog in the world! Her name was Emmy. And oohh, do I miss her. See one day I had the desire to care for something. Is was a point in my life where I was trying to swear off boys. HaHa. Silly me. I wanted to have something love me unconditionally, and I would love the same. I searched and searched, and found this little chihuahua. A type of dog I wasn't even interested in purchasing. I was looking towards a yorkie or a toy poodle. Something small but definately not a chihuahua. I asked the owner if I could meet the dog first. The second I saw her I was in love!

Also I had all these creative names picked out. You know, how when you name a pet you want it to be original and creative. All those went out the window after one look. The second I saw her, she reminded me of a little statue.....emmy's. So hence the name EMMY!

She was a typical puppy.. bouncy and always happy to see me. So tiny that it was hard to have a good hold on her. She would snuggle up under my chin and around my neck at night. And everything was chewed to shreds! Even though she was a hand full, she still loved me no matter what. And I loved her. As I previously mentioned I am getting married. Getting married means, new housing. And new housing means, NO DOGS ALLOWED. :( Selling her was so painful.. and regretful.

I was thinking of her this month.. since EMMY was born february 24, 2008. I just want to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY... and I miss you!!!

Hello

This is a first for me, I don't know much about blogs. But everytime I saw someone elses blog I got this stirring feeling. I NEED ONE! Call it what you want, but I felt like I was missing out. So here I am trying to think of something profound to say, and I have nothing!

I will just tell you a few simple facts about me. I am getting married!! I find this to be the most important of facts. Because it's the one that makes me the happiest. I got engaged in August and counting down the days. My fiance's name is Alan. Sorry girls he's taken! Hopefully by the next time I am on here doing this Blog thing I will have somemore fun stuff to share.
